I'm not from Tampa, but I suppose that's the joy of the internet! :)
You are making the movie just by yourself? No crew? That's friggin' crazy!

Yeah i tend to work crewless. To me its alot more peaceful with noone but actors. I use friends and family to bounce ideas off of but in the end it is me, my camera, rigs, and actors.

It probably won't make much difference since the dvd will be SD.

I have a HVX and when I down convert it to SD, you can't tell it was HD in the first place. If this were an HDDVD it would be a completley different story.

Ditto. ... I'm making mine without a crew too. I shot most of my footage after 1 a.m. in the parking garage of the complex I live in with my two actors helping me with lights and camera setup. It's do-able on this little 5-minute short with no dialogue and no complex camera work, but I really envy the guys here who have full teams to work with.

Sometimes I write scripts that I really love but they require actors and at least 2people crew...and it's frustrating to leave them in the drawer for the future (like 2050). But then again, I love the challenge when it comes to write something having in mind that there is not a lot of time, not many actors, no crew, no budget...:) I enjoy the stories...I wish I were able to make a nice dialogue-driven,lots of locations kinda movie but then again, I always loved movies like Coffee and Cigarettes so I'm heading towards that direction already...
PS. I just had an idea of a coffee and cigarettes style of movie but suitable for Horrorfest....'OMG this coffee is poisoned...aaargh' and Smoking Kills so there you have your killer......
PS2. dont mind me...I'm supposed to be doing technical evaluations for 2 RFPs....

Now if I could only figure out how to work with a crew, but no actors...
