Took a couple pics today, not many.

As always Cinegear is a cool place to spend a few hours. I got to meet Jarred who is a really cool dude.

I saw a lot of neat stuff....this year everyone seems to have their own version of a tall vertical boom...I took a pics of Doggicams version.

Not a whole lot that was very new compared to last year. Just took notice of stuff I kinda breezed over in the past such as Panavison's Hylen Smartlens system. This thing is so badass. Just really great idea that make for highly multipurpose lens.

Cable Cam...always one of my favorites

And best for the last the infamous ML55 Crane Car. Used on tons of car commercials and features. This thing is so smartly designed its sick. My friend got to use it on a Saab commercial a couple years ago.

If you want to see in action watch the 2nd disc of the Batman Begins:SE DVD, the batmobile section. This thing was leading the batmobile ON A SET at over 100mph!

Crane Operator works from here...First AC pulls from the one of the monitors in the 2nd row seats...and a place for the director.

Funny how teeny Red looks compared to the D20 and Genesis.

Is there anything different about it besides the stripes on top?

some nice equipment there. i really like how the RED cam is so small and sensible. digital cinema cameras just simply do not have to be that big.. it seems its done more out of tradition than actual purpose. but change is a good thing. especially when it makes so much sense.

Can anyone with a dvinfo account repost the Cinegear pics from this topic (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?p=502296#post502296) here? I'd like to see some more of the new Red photos, but they require a login.

Wow that RED looks great without all the gaudy housing and fangs and whatnot!

I agree but its nice to keep the tradition in the business.

And its really more for all the ACs...specially the older ones to make an easy transition over...most of these didnt want to touch the new cameras because of fear or the lack of desire to have to learn totally new systems.

These cameras which offer a look and feel of the film bodies they are familiar with...and accept all the same lenses, accessories, etc have made a much easier time getting the older guys on the HD ship.
