I received my SGPRO this morning, and wow!! it's a real solid and professional bit of kit. thought you guys might like to see it all setup and ready to go, will shoot some tests over the weekend and post links to footage. First impressiona are very good. The adapter is very solid, and so far makes a very clean and solid image.

cheers

now thatza sexy beast!! I have had actors say they like video because the cameras are smaller and less intimidating...but I dont think this one qualifies. Bring on some clips!! :)

what kinda mattebox and follow focus is that? Very cool looking setup indeed.

Its a Petroff matte box and petroff tudio follow focus. Very light very durable, i prefer them over arriflex, which tends to be heavier.

Damn the footage looks awesome.
I have to ask though..what happened when they start skipping? It looks faded and really grainy.

Hi , sorry haven't been around to log in. That footage was shot as soon as i put the sgpro on my camera, with various lenses, i literaly just walked into the yard and started filming the kids, so it's all a bit hand held and i'm pulling focus as we go, the other lenses were a nikon 50mm and 100mm one lens was a 70-210 zoom which looks MASSIVE!! and is good fun to tote around...Bazooka. There is a pic somewhere i will try and post link to it, wayne might host it.
Anyway the skipping bit is a bit faded and grainy as it was darker because i was messing with the iris etc, by the way i managed to stop the lens down to F8 with no visible grain, anyway I was messing with some color correction settings on the Avid to rectify this and couldn't be bothered to tweek and mess for too long so i just left it, yeah does look a bit 70's i suppose. Anyway, shot some footage for a band today and will edit a bit together soon. Thanks for the feedback guys.

oh yeah, it was all shot 50i, no progressive so there are some motion artifacts, and a couple of times i didnt zoom far enough through the adapter. As i said i threw on the SGPRO out of the box and played for a bit.

Hey bob,
Killer setup. What lens is on the camera in the picture you provided?

its a Sigma 28-70 2.8, its not the best i'd say for this setup, as the focus throw is a very short, i'm working on a PL mount for the SGPRO, so i can use my Zeiss distagons, need to check a few things first with wayne. i'll post a link to a picture of it with a monster lens give me a sec.

hay, i posted about your lens before i saw u posted. Please dont think i was trying to be a smart azz about your f stop. Question: i have been looking into different ways to support the lens. I have a 135mm that is long and heavy. What did u use in the picture and what are some other brands or devises that can do it. I have been look but havent found much.

I used a lens support for 15mm rods i had laid around, you can find them about on ebay etc, then just adapt it to fit your lens, or make one.
