This fall I will begin teaching some screenwriting and film classes at night.

I am putting together the web site now and I am trying to pick the final color for my logo.

from those particular saturations i say purple. It has a nice balance being not overly vibrant but still coming through as a solid color.The others except the blue are just too off-color to me. The blue is tired corporate looking.

I like the blue because it is more like a light source. Either that or a yellow one.

The Green stands out more in a good way then the other ones... the other ones Pop up.. but in a cheesy way, but the green just pops up.. like NiCE!!! IMO ofcourse.

Why not use em all.

the graphic is definitive enough to "brand" you ... then use whichever color works best with whatver layout you have for posters or whatver or whatever works best for each film ... like red for a horror movie ... or blue for a scifi ... or whatever

otherwise I say blue because it seems to pop the most against the white.

Thanks for all of the great feedback so far.

The colors are all meant to work well together and will all be used in some form or another on the "NJ Film School" web site.

The green is actually the primary color in use on my "Off Stage Films" logo and web site:

When my logo designer first sent me the 5 colored logos, I was actually leaning towards the red, but so far that color is in last place. :(

This decision is harder than I thought and I would like to have one picked in the next couple of days.

Anyway, keep your thoughts and suggestions coming,

Chris

p.s. If there is a color you really don't like I would love to know that too.

Green is definitely the most understated and preffered in my book.

Purple. It doesn't smack you in the face. Looks elegant, and mature.

ALso, if you ever plan to reproduce in print, it will come out beter than the blue or red.

Green. No two ways about it. Looks "artier" and not corporate to me. Orange is 2nd place. IMO

I have no idea why, but I hate purple in almost any situation. I've talked to other "purple haters" as well. I think purple is the rare "love it or hate it" hue.

Purple. This is of course a well-planned conspiracy to keep the votes perfectly even. You probably know about logos and printing already, but you have a logo that will require some halftoning to get a precise rendition on paper, which is more expensive. You may want a print version without the shading.

I like the Red too.

Thanks for all the votes.

I have to say, I am really surprised at the outcome so far. My two favorites were red and purple, but based on the way the votes have gone I am starting to think blue might be the best choice.

First impression:
Green = "Go"
Green= $
Green = life

I like the green. Mind you, I'm colourblind...but I like the way it looks better than the others.

Thanks everyone for your help.

In the end, I was unable to choose a color. :(

So I took Jack's advice and I picked them all. :)

The graphic designer I worked with, Kris Taft (www.KrisTaft.com), was wonderful and gave me hi-res versions of each color (including a greyscale one).

Now, it's on to the website design.

It's because I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
