OK,

Why is the simple stuff so hard sometimes? I am in Final Cut and I want to export my 720pn finished job to the web with compressor. WheN I do it my results are squished back to 4:3 ratio.

I am starting off with the Web Compression (H.264 at 800kbs) leaving square pixels"on" and telling it to reduce the size by 50%. Every thing I do comes out 4:3.

Any ideas? Is there a stupid option I can use?

This should be the easy part. Right?

Thanks,

Rob

just change the settings, I.e., 500x281 600x318 etc... or do aspect ration and then auto type in the stop and it will change the bottom. The pictures are of the default.....

I was having the same problem. You do have to custom change the size as stated above using 1280x720 as your original size.

But even when I got that right, my image looked like junk. The test was jaggedy. All the lines were jaggedy and looked like bad compression. Did the same thing using Quicktime instead of Compressor adn it worked. Don't know what setting I'm messing up in Compressor.

There's a small Icon on the batch monitor that switches the clip from 16/9 to 4:3. I know its hard to understand but I had the exact same problem. Just click on it and it should be fine. It should be in the top right corner of the monitor where you see the picture in compressor.

Thanks guys,

I found the 16:9 button in the inspector. It was the 5th tab over from the right. Nothing about this is really set up right in Compressor. You turn on one option and everything else gets greyed out. It seems like you have to do it 3 different ways to get what you want.

But it is working.

Thanks,

Rob
