I am now in the pre-construction phase of my cable camera. It is going to be a fairly
simple design and should not cost more than $1000 I hope, but who knows. I will post
a sketch of what I am talking about.

My main question is how would you take the R/C parts from an R/C plane etc. and
use them to drive the electric motor that moves the camera along the cable.
Would the speed be selectable?
Also, would a car battery be able to run a 3hp electric motor such as this one:
