What are you using it for, exactly? Just text and motion graphics?
Anyone using it for more complicated effects?

The text effects are really nice and easy to use, not to mention fast, as are alot of effects with motion graphics that wold take forever in other programs.
You can do alot of cool things if you combine some of the particle effects to create backgrounds. I don't really see it's use on narrative filmmaking, but it's great for promo videos. I've even seen some stuff on TV and said "Hey, that was a motion preset"
I made a promotional video for my fraternity every semester back in college in motion 2 and the people who saw it thought we paid a professional to put it together. Now that I think about it ... i probably should have charged them .... damn.

I usually use Live Type for text, I'm still trying to figure out Motion myself.

I have been using motion quite a bit. I have it at work and at home. Both versions are 2.0. I have been dabbling in Live Type lately, and am really enjoying how deep you can go into creating the text you want.

I have it and use it just to learn it. I haven't had anything where I actually needed to use it for compositing or special effects but I will play around with different things with it on occasion so I know how to use it when I do need it.
I like all the different text possibilities and particles that came w/ it. It's a lot of fun even when you're just messing around.

Just got it, going to learn how to do simple things to start.
I use it a lot even though it can drive a guy nuts.
It's the best thing for a quick flash to spruce your text up but the renders in FCP can be stupidly long. And i find Motion itself starts to slow down after you start to layer.
If you need some quicky graphic that'll dazzel clients who don't know any better (corporate, wedding etc...) then Motion is The Best (IMHO). Fast. So simple a blind child coud use it and delivers recognizably "good" text tricks.
But it ain't that great after you get right into it.

Dang this thread is mad old. So old. I forgot I started it!
Motion Rocks, still. I'm trying out some Color Grading techniques with it now in conjunction to FCP.
Though, that might be useless when the newest FC Studio rolls out. Here tell it might have Final Touch HD integrated in !!

For those using live type has anybody used it as a live broadcast character generator and if so is it compatible with Flash?

Anyone have any examples of things they've done with Motion online? I always enjoy watching things other people have done and I've been looking for things done in Motion for a while, but my search has come up empty.
