Object sewing itself

Whats the most efficient way to make something seemingly sew itself.
The scene calls for a peice of cloth to sew itself while hanging on a wall whats the best way to do this? Green thread, that gets photoshopped out, pulling the needle through (Not sure how to remove it)? Stop motion photography? Would I use the DVX to take "stills" and piece those clips toghether? Any suggestions I am sorta out of my league but really want to push myself?

old school method of frame by framing it. Sounds like an interesting thing to do, but either way it'll be really time consuming. Do it the conventional way, I' was doing that when i was 14, so it should be pretty easy for u mate.

Maybe try shooting it untying and play it in reverse.
