Hi all,
Not sure if this topic has been highlighted. Anyway, since we are all getting good results with alot of the DIY mini35 here and the only problem is getting the image flip right side up. Has anyone found out or asked if the manufacturers themselves can put in an option in their DVCAM to flip the image up side down? There are so many digital effects on a DVcam these days, I am sure they can add another digital effect of making the image up side down. Beside the image hitting the CCD is in fact upside down anyway, but the DVCam software correct this problem.
I know this will create a lot of problem for some independent mini35 manufacturer cos the only benefit of selling their equipment at high price is having the functionality of good image right side up? Anyone?
Thanks.
thats neat
i wish i could send my camera to panasonic and have them install a new feature right underneath Normal, Letterbox, Squeeze asking for Normal, or Flipped. That would be great.

Hi Papa,
Seriously, wouldn't that be a good addon for all DVCam. It wasn't before the era of mini35. But now there are so many mini35 out there, I think panasonic should add this effect in. Then comapny like P+S can concerntrate on buidling better mini35 in terms of picture quality and reducing the price so people can afford to buy them. This is such a sought after feature.
ANYONE IN THIS FORUM HAVING AN ANSWER FOR THIS? Sorry, not angry just shouting out for someone to reply this question.

We've been nagging them for months. I don't know if the feature will be coming out or not, nobody's saying.
It's my understanding that JVC is implementing this capability in the HD200 and/or HD250, at least for viewing. Don't remember if it's flipped during recording or not, although I'd certainly expect it to be.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for the response. Best if it is flip for recording as well. Else, just for viewing is good enough. The reason is its so difficult to record a scene when the image is inevrted. Not sure where to turn the camera, always missed the object position. My camera is new so I wouldn't want to open the lcd up and invert it or some drastic work. Man! its frustrating to have it so close and yet so far. So simple and its out of reach. Have to leave it to the manufacturer guys then.

I have actually started to get used to the flip. Its like playing inverted controls on Goldeneye for Nintendo 64 all over again.

Hi, not sure what you mean. Can you explain? Have you made a flip that worked? or just getting use to the inverted image on the LCD.

he means you have to stand on your head while shooting. it works, plus with all that extra blood going to your brain, you get great ideas. then in post, just turn your computer upside down.
but seriously, you do get used to the flip after a bit, kinda.....

Ok, Thanks. Will take your word for it. I just hope you don't start seeing the inverted image on the LCD right way up or you'll be in trouble. Hehehe...
