maybe see if its even possible to get organic film
pops into the digital files of the RED unit. You know how film flares up and down when you speed the camera up to whatever film rate you're shooting? Then flares back
again when you shut the camera off? What if the sensor mimicked that? There are alot of awesome techniques just used during those few seconds of the film ramp .... the image is blurred and blown out .... they make awesome edit points in certain projects especially music videos .... just throwing an idea out there ... I'm just a dork film guy and would love that option in a digital body.

Just a question, since I am a novice in this field, but wouldn't this be something that could be done is post? I would think you would have more control of the result when you are controlling the effect...

Film Effects does teh speed up / slow down into edits with flare. It's a great post effect, but it's a negative artifact of film production, not a "quality" element you'd want to emulate. The whole idea of a digital cinema camera is to take the best aspects of film, resolution and dynamic range, and marry them with the best of video, price, instantness, stability, low noise. Any such filmic artifacts can always be added in post.
