Mattebox Migration from HVX

I know the Red specs aren't finalized, but is there a Mattebox/follow focus system that would potentially be able to migrate from the HVX200 to the Red camera?

I'd hate to invest several thousand bucks for HVX accessories and then need to buy new ones for RED.

Good question Nelson ! Like you I am looking at getting a mattebox and follow focus for the HVX for a television feature we will be shooting next Summer. I see Red as a definite choice for projects down the line; but it would be great to know from a producers point of view that I'm need not reinvesting in additional equipment. At present all my other investments apart from the HVX and Cards/Store have been in equipment that I can use across formats such as Jibs, steadicams and dolly.

since the hvx has an integrated lens and the RED lens is removable it would have to be a very flexable follow focus and a matte box with multiple stepdown capabilities. But if it will work depends more on the lens you use with the RED than anything else.

the red will use 15mm standard mattebox.. like the one on your hvx.. the only thing you need to worry about is how wide of a lens you use on the red, it cant be wider obviously than your mattebox allows, be it a 4x4 or a 4x5.6
