I currently own a Canon GL2, but I'm considering investing in a DVX100B. I feel quite comfortable with the GL2 and its manual controls, but I'm wondering if I should feel intimidated by the DVX100B.
I'm just curious to hear more from users of lower end cameras that have made a move to the DVX100B, or what have you.
I apologize if this is not the appropriate place for this question!

I made the switch from the GL-2 to the DVX100b about 4 months ago. Don't feel intimidated by the DVX100b at all. Yes, there are a good deal of settings to learn, but it is well worth it. I am still learning what exactly each one does in theory and in reality. With Barry Green's book and DVD + some practice, you will be so glad you went with the 100B. The GL-2 served its purpose, but doesn't even compare.
...and yes, I think you posted this in the wrong section.

I went fomr a basic Sony 1 chipper to a DVX100a and never looked back! If you just do what people recommend, you should be able to make the transiiton wihout too much hoopla. At first I was intimidated, but I soon found out that it wasn't the camera at all, it was the whole new world of "videospeak." I had to learn what all the terminology was about.
