I think there might be a little confussion.

This catagory is for special visual effects, correct?

I can't imagine you'd have a catagory for Sound FX.

At first I though sound effects, but folks are very visual centric around here, so, I'd assumend it was Special (visual) Effects.

Just askin'...

SFX is for SOUND EFFECTS. VFX is VISUAL EFFECTS.

Yeah, odd ... I noticed that last night too after posting what I did. It's an easy misconception, but I believe the ballot should say VFX.

Also, Visual Effects is usually in post, while Special Effects is usually during production/shooting (the REAL effects). That's why the Special Effects Supervisor would be the guy on set overseeing the explosives, smoke, etc. and the Visual Effects Supervisor is the guy working with all the geeks on the computers, overseeing the post production process.

That is odd that on a site for video they would call vfx-sfx. There should be both one would think.
