I can't seem to get responses on the DVfilm forum, so I'll try here. Does anyone know what the best settings would be to convert motion titles to 24p? Sometimes it looks ok, and then sometimes not so great. Kinda stroby. Anyone have any thoughts, or your favorite settings so I can try those out? Thanks!

I don't know what software you're using, but nonetheless I would say slow your motion down. 24p gets stroby the faster objects move across the screen.

Yeah, and I do understand that. It's same as panning really fast while shooting 24p. It seems to do this with thin line type graphics that are expanding in scale...

Has anyone had an MXF video file go missing when using this software? I have and cannot find it anywhere. The MXF sound file still exists in the audio folder, but the video folder has no record of it, no matter how many times I refresh or reboot -the file is gone. And strangely, the file I saved as the output before I was shut out of the program was there, albeit corrupted because of course the render could not take place.

Apparently you were using File->SaveAs to rename the MXF file and move it to a different folder.
Instead your should open the file (or drag it into Maker), select your options, then hit Start.
DVFilm Maker http://dvfilm.com/maker comes with a Quickstart Guide that explains how to use it, step by step, as you go through the process. I would definitely give that a read before using the program further. If you have any more support questions please email support@dvfilm.com

UncleBenji,
Maker will generally do better with images than with titles, since it is a simple adaptive field doubler. That said, a few suggestions. First, it's best to do your titles and motion graphics directly in 24p. If you did them in 60i, can you go back and re-render them directly in a 24p timeline? That would end up much better. In general, you want to convert your footage to 24p, then edit, add titles, graphics, transitions, etc. directly in 24p.
Second, have you tried converting your 60i titles to 30p in Maker? Don't use the 24p options, just check the "Deinterlace where motion is present" box and output it. You can interpret the 30p to 24p in your NLE. It will be slightly slower, but the strobing won't be as bad.
Finally, fast motion graphics in 24p can't be super-sharp, that will always strobe. You actually need to add some motion blur to make it look acceptable, and After Effects has a check box for this exact purpose, for instance.
