Just incase anyone was wondering canopus seems to have installed ok on 64 bit xp, now im going to try editing.

I ended up installing 32 bit windows because edius was acting buggy with 64 bit.

My main machine at home is XP 64-bit. I ended up installing Virtual Server R2 and running an XP 32-bit install in there for compatibility with some hardware and stuff.
Things that are strictly software are fine. It's the stuff that "touches" hardware or installs virtual hardware drivers (heck, even Adobe Acrobat tries and fails to install its virtual Acrobat printer) that get iffy.
