I saw that someone posted this link to view the films:

http://www.dvxuser2.com/herofest/

Is that where we are supposed to download them from?

If so, where is the voting spreadsheet?

Thanks,

Chris

Jarred said when all the films are in -- still waiting on Jack's -- he would post a zip file with all the films and the voting spreadsheet... In the meantime, he put up the folder with the individual films in it. Oh, man, I wanna keep watching but I gotta walk the dogs and get outta here. Some very good entries so far. Congrats to everybody!

I think I will wait for the big zip download with the voting spreadsheet.

I'm old and if I don't vote right away I will forget what I liked. :)

try changing the names of the file so only one .mov ... try chanhging mp4 to .mov as well .

I just watched Norm's without any problem. It is h.264 so you will need Quicktime 7 to watch. Here's the standalone, free quicktime 7.1 installer:

You're not the onlly one with playback troubles.

I'm on Mac and I can't open three so far. Even when I change the names from mp4 to mov to whatever. Tsk.

Can't even open then with Final Cut, guys. What's up?

Larry Rutledge

I've only tried about 5 so far, but they've opened fine so far. Which one's can't you open?

List of non working:

Dahopafilms - Brian child
Noct - Aaron Marshal _ hero_of_mana
Our Hero the.........

I have done necessary changes to the file names (removing .txt, even changed to .mov) and they still don't work. However--

ComicBookRomance worked just fine after simply removing the .txt at the back end.

Update:

Just noticed that files are not downloading completely. It might be my server or something but I am redownloading the files again to see if that helps.

Why would ANY of these files have .txt at the end of them??

If anyone else has trouble viewing mine (hopefully everone's got QT7 installed), please let me know & I'll see about rendering out an AVI to compress directly through QT7 Pro. I went with the mp4 because Jarred had a helpful tip for exporting via Vegas, and said mp4 was cool.

Kholi

Dunno, but a good portion have the extention .TXT on the back end. But that isn't the problem, its simply making sure the entire file is downloaded. I'm using safari and for some reason when I download multiple files at once, some stop early, as if they were already finished.

Redownloading now.

No!!!!!! Not The Bandwidth Already!

Larry Rutledge
06-05-2006, 11:21 AM
I just saw the bandwidth was exceeded...perhaps that is the source of all the troubles, if the files were not completely downloaded before the bandwidth clamp was put on then they wouldn't run right.

Just a thought.

JARRED!! We need some help!! :)

yeah, same story here. most with mp4 ext. won't open. some with mov ext. open but are super glitchy as in they stop playing. my QT is up to date for sure and i'm on a mac. my h.264's are opening fine and i never have trouble opening stuff on the forums....

i'm guessing there are a lot of PC users here that don't normally export QT. if done correctly in h.264, it should have a mov ext, not a mp4.

bummer, i really want to see these.....

:crybaby: bandwidth exceeded?

POWWEB page states that there's only 10GB/day transfer ... that won't get very far, especially if the zip's going to be 800MB. Shoot ... I'd only gotten two downloaded so far, too.

Why would ANY of these files have .txt at the end of them??.

I don't know, but our film downloaded for me with the txt ending on it (it was in addition to the mp4 ending). I just removed the txt and it worked fine.

It might be a PC thing, never can trust those PC's ... :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
