Some incredible talent here.. John Allardice just sent me these renders he whipped up of the Red with a little motion. He warns that its just a quick render out with some detail missing, but as soon as I saw them I almost choked they looked so good.

Remember.. these are made from scracth, not from actual images of the camera. Amazing.

That's surprisingly life-like! Did he use some kind of bumpmapping for those details or something?

Wow.. very nice... I love the matte charcoal look with the glossy logo. My laptop can barely render images let alone animations :( What did you use for the rendering engine?

Here you go... have a ball. BTW, looking at the cage on RED's website I realize I made it a bit more narrow than it should be. I'm also not too happy with my viewfinder arrangement and the bars are too small. Close enough for government work.

hehe.. Well I've been working on our remote focus system. I'm trying to see if we can get protos ready by cinegear. After Jim's posting about the form factor changing I'm thinking about holding off on more renderings till after cinegear ;)
