Many digital watches have built in compass systems and display the direction on the LCD. It might be helpful to have an electronic compass inside the RED camera that would record the directional data and store it as metadata the same way it stores the Iris, Timecode, etc.
It could be useful in determining what light was like at certain times of day when you need to do pickups, especially when you can cross-reference it with the stored time of day (if RED records that info in addition to Timecode).
...or maybe I'm just crazy. I saw a nifty Timex Expedition watch today with this feature so I of course thought "That's neat. It'd be neater in RED."
