Anyone made a hoodman before? Just curious. I'd image you could make a decent one out of cardboard in about 5 minutes.

hmmm. Are you suggesting taping the foamcore together with the tape, or taping it to the DVX? Possibly velcro actaully may get the job done too.

Foamcore and electrical tape.
Bingo.
I just made 3 of then with black foam core, a hot glue gun, and some velcro. They actually look pretty dang good too. I decided to reinforce the glue with some wide gaffer's tape. Anyway they work great. Custom sizes and all.

Here's one I made out of card stock, elastic cord, archival tape (out of gaf tape) and electrical tape. I used electrical tape on the edges that sit against the screen. This gives the hood more friction, so it stays put. Also, only score the card stock, so that the inside surface remains uncut. Then tape the outside.

Sorry the second pic is focused more on the sunshade, I thought that it gives a better view of the elastic cord.

There's a simple template too. This one was for the GS400 3.5 inch LCD. It's on there all the time. For the effort expended, it's easy to recommend just buying one :-)
