When I first saw how futuristic and cool the RED design was, I tought it would be great if they came out (later on) with a (full rig) steady-cam that would match the camera's design. This would be like one of those optional RED cages, except it would be the coolest steady-cam ever created. Features I'd like integrated into that "21st century" steady would be:
1) Integrated (i.e. matching) monitor and battery system.
2) Integrated wireless video transmission and camera controls for remote operator.
3) Integrated cables between monitor/battery and camera.
And of course, it should be rock solid, well balanced by default, designed to provide the right amount of inertia (esp. for horizontal panning movements) where it truly matters. In other words, I believe it is possible for RED to make the coolest rig ever designed and one of the market's best performing steady while keeping its price quite reasonable (exactly what they did for the camera).
The funny thing is: "RED" steady-cam operators would eventually look like Robocop or some sci-fi soldiers à la Unreal Tournament :D This would be excellent in terms of visibility for Red ;)
