Add-on motion capture sensors to capture and record camera movements in virtual space to aid in compositing and CGI animaton work. With software that imports the data to keyframes in your 3d ap's timeline.

I love seeing alot of ideas like this modular space recognition being suggested... Looks like FX is going to be a heavy hitter for Red.

Theres lots of ways to achieve this, but really what we need is a way to get information in and out of the camera. You can't exactly slap a GPS device on the camera and have accurate motion recorded.

There are many systems on the market that use various techniques like using lasers that read an algorithm put into a pattern on the floor or ceiling or a typical moCap rig. We need flexibility in a system so its best to keep that in the realm of 3rd parties.

Basic camera information though WOULD be beneficial to have recorded on board. Your could use various sensors to record, tilt, height, lens information etc. Then we would want a wireless technology built into RED so we could send the camera an ASCII data stream to be included in meta data.
