A small processing device somewhat based on boujou type motion tracking software that either realtime tracks, or buffers and tracks each shot. It would then dump a file to an accessible flash memory stick/card of the motion track formated for the selected 3D package (Maya, Lightwave, 3DMAX) with the camera tracking information ready to load up.

You might even attach a small gyroscope to the camera somehow to get accurate roll/pitch/yaw information without even tracking the footage...though some tracking would have to happen for an accurate track. Variables like lense size and zoom could be read from the camera internally, taking all the time consuming guesswork out of Camera Tracking a shot.

A high end camera with a device like this would become an effects house's prized possession instantly.

You'd need some MIGHTY computing power to track in real time. Also, you need a way to tell the solving engine which object in the scene are moving and which are static. In Boujou or other tracking programs this is achieved via garbage masking.

There is lots of interaction that needs to be done with the software in order to get an accurate track but its a wonderful idea in theory!
