Software that sits on a MacTabletPro (Yeah I know that doesn't exist yet, but neither does the Red) or TabletPC that provides everything the operator has access to and more.

Ok so imagine you have your high res pen based tablet in the studio, or the field. You can see everything the operator sees, but you also have color coded variable intensity overlays for advanced functions. Just one might be a "well" of reticles. You tap the well and a "+" appears at your pen tip. Draw over the area of interest in your scene and up pops a contextual menu. In this example, select "Focus 1", then adjust focus to that point via a soft control or on the camera. Tap the well again and assign another area to "Focus 2" and repeat focus operation. As soon as Focus 2 is created an execute option appears and you are ready to toggle between the two at a tap of the screen.

Since this is RedWare you can have as many as you want. The cool part is that you can draw arrows indicating the focus order and speed between racks. So you can go from 1 to 3m then to 5 and back to 1. All without touching the camera.

But that is just focus. You could also tap the reticle well and select an area of interest and assign exposure zebras to just that area. Or how about soft triggers zones. Let's say an object moves into a zone, now the camera racks focus (it doesn't have to be that area) and changes aperature because that area is in a hotter part of the picture.

RedWare on a MacTabletPro would be awesome.

End of my ideas for the night
