Hi...
Just bought an HVX200 and a FS-100 package. After 3 days of test shooting, and 1 day in test edit FCP, I cant figure out a few things:

1)How do you do in-field playback? Through cam? I tried the method in the FS-100 manual, but i just get a bin of blue boxes on my HVX LCD. Do i need an FCP station on set?

2)When swiping drive for re-use on set, is this the proper method?... Put FS100 in Disk mode, Organize Reels, Organize P2, Mount to computer, slide all files to a Hardrive, once transfer is complete, unmount F100 and reformat.

3) IN TAPELESS MODE, does any timecode info go from HVX (in Rec Run) to FS100? I dont seem to have a regenerating timcode roll on my F100 in the setup. Should i just let F100 roll its own internal TC?

4)Is there a device that secures the Firewire connection to FS100 and HVX on each end?

5)Do I need to warn my client of any potential post issues if he will be editing in an Avid environment. Im hoping to swipe my FS100 stuff to an external drive for him and send him away to an Avid room...hoping that the editor there can easily capture the source material and move on effortlessly. Any heads up issues with this?

Thanks...sorry for the long post, but this should be the end of it!

1- Put the HVX in playback mode, hit the "Thunbnails" button on top of the camera body, play your footage back from the FS-100. That easy. But you also have to set the FS-100 to play back your footage the way you want it to. It's bulky, but it works.

2- Yes, but you run EITHER Organzie Reels (for non P2 formats) OR Organzie P2, but not both at the same time. Depends on how you recorded onto the FS-100.

3- No, set the FS-100 to record the TC coming out of the camera. On the FS-100, go to the Setup menu, scroll down, way down, and select "TC EXT". Simple as that.

4- Get an elbow FW connector. There are several out there. It will make the connection more secure. FW is FW.

5- You give him the P2 material. The rest is up to him. But seriously, I recommend you contact the editor and tell him your sending P2 CONTENT folders and he needs to be ready for them.

Oh wait, my bad, you DO have to run both Organize Clips AND Organize P2. Sorry, my bad!
