Hi,
Has anyone using the hvx 202, find the camera noisy? The one i am using is noisy, the gain is set to 0, is there anyway to reduce the noise in the camera?
Thanks,
Senman

I also found this to be true...I had all settings set at 0 and played around with each settings to see if it made a difference but it didn't. I find that the camera did not hold well at all in low-light compared to even the DVX. I didn't get much prep time though but I still couldn't find a solution.

I've also noticed some noise in some of my footage. Usually high contrast situations.
Also in moving trees and something similar.

The noisiest low-light footage I've shot was in Cinelike D.
In Cinelike V, there's a lot less noise.

202 will probably be the PAL version in Europe and Australasia. The DVX I just bought is the DVX102BEN

202 is the model number for Australasia. 200E is the model number for Europe.

I wonder what 35mm Kodak Vision stock would like like in low-light. Probably kind of noisy.
Get some light in there guys. Gotta give those CCD's something to work off of.

Yep light is the basis of film. If you dont gonna use light in your production maybe the HVX isnt the right cam for you.

What monitor are you viewing your footage on? Most HD LCD monitors add precocious amounts of noise not in the original signal. Try to watch the HVX footage on a DLP projector or HD CRT if you want to see the true nature of the image. Even the 17" BTLH Panasonic adds noise.
