Sometimes I have like 4 locations in one day. One Shoot I might fill up my 1 4gig P2 card 4 times, so when I dump to my EXT. HDD, and get home I get 4 volumes and when I import them into into FCP, The clips just have such weird names. I can just keep organized, I would like to have whatever I shoot at like a #1 - #10 etc.... So I can title my folder on my desktop, Mars Location and then inside will be all your typical files that trsanfer fom the P2 but if you go to the Video Folder it say #1-10 etc... Is there away. Yesterday I shot 86 clips and just can keep all together when I go to edit.

thanks
P.

It already basically does that. Look at the first four digits in the filename, there will be an 0001xx.MXF, an 0002xx.MXF, an 0003xx.MXF, etc.

The only thing that's random is those last two characters (where I said "xx", it could be something like GT or 9Q or whatever, so it'd be 0001GT or 00029Q), but the important thing is to look at the first four characters. They'll always be numerically ascending.

Is there a way to reset the clock back to 0 or does each camera keep counting up forever?

If you organise your browser by "timecode in" then your clips will at least be in sequential order, then you can separate them into sepatate bins and you can also rename them.

I wish you could plug in a mini usb keyboard and log your clips on the spot.
