It seems everytime I insert the P2 card into the Powerbook Slot, the computer freezes. I have to power down and power back up. Anyone have this problem? Anyone know what may be wrong or how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
Peace

What are the specs of your Powerbook? And, for curiosity, when you update your OS, do you use the combo or delta updaters? For example, updating to 10.4.6 via software update control panel created some probolems in FCP with certain plug-ins not being recognized. Updating using the combo updater solves the problem. So, it is possible that some files were not properly replaced by the delta updates. Meanwhile, I have heard other reports of PB freezes but have not heard any system details.

We have exactly the same problem. 1.5 Ghz Powerbook, 1 GB DDR SDRAM, 10.4.6, Ned, the problem is not with FCP, but rather when the P2 is inserted in the slot. The whole computer frezzes for up rto two minutes until the P2 is mounted.
Jofes6: Is this your experience? Try waiting, eventually the card does mount then all seems ok. EXCEPT we had a kernal panic (hard crash) when unmounting P2.
We have also had a problem with the P2 showing full in the camera but when we go to offload its empty. Check out this thread. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=58103

I may not have been sufficiently clear in my suggestion. I do not have a problem mounting P2 cards in my Powerbook, and I always update OS versions with the combo rather than the delta updater. I was interested in knowing whether users who were experiencing problems updated via delta or combo method. I only introduced the FCP question just to show that the 10.4.6 update created issues even in something seemingly unrelated to the OS.
