Filmed over two consecutive days at the barn - one very rainy, and one very sunny.
DVX100, No Sticks, Stock Lens. Outside shots shutter speed at 1/1000th, F-stop variable. Indoor barn shutter at 1/500th - F-stop variable (all blowouts purposeful).

Really nice colors. I can't believe those shots, some are very very nice. Nice depth of field and texture. You can really see a lot of details. Great angles and some good saturations.

Thanks Tomyboy. I had a lot of fun working on this, that location was a goldmine for great angles and good DoF play.
90% of that saturation happened in camera, and I tweaked the remaining in FCP.

No page? REally? That's odd. What browser/ version are you using?
Try this direct link to the file: www.joshoakhurst.com/shorts/MYfavoritePASTIME_5di.mp4

i really liked it.
you have text on the site that says the following:
"DVX100, No Sticks, Stock Lens. Outside shots shutter speed at 1/1000th, F-stop variable. Indoor barn shutter at 1/500th - F-stop variable (all blowouts on purpose)."
did you choose the shutter speeds because for the effect or because of there was so much light?
also what did you do in post, you really made it look like film. there were some shots that had those "sprinkles" sorry don't know what they are called, that come out in film.

I chose the high shutter speeds for effect. This, of course, left me leaving the iris wide up most of the time unless the sun peaked out every now and again.

In post I simply added a bit of color correction. The "sprinkles" I believe you are referring to are actually raindrops - they show up because I had the shutter speed cranked.

Just had to re-revisit this posting and see the awesome shots you got, geese! Good stuff. I'm interested to see how close you can get to the fence and get the details of wood, metal, and other surfaces. The horse looked fab!
