Hello everybody!
This is my first Videoclip I have made with my new DVX100B!
The clip is about the destruction of one of our old school buildings. I'm from Germany so there will be some German words.
I tried to give the video an 16mm look. Watch and tell me what you think.

Very interesting. I love watching those machines work, always amazes me the power they possess. The shots had a nice color to them, did you CC or use any specific scene file setting?

Nice. Some of those shots looked REALLY good. Good colors, crisp image, interesting movement, etc. Even more impressive, is that it looks like this was shot in the middle of the day, and even with the "day" natural lighting, it looks very good. I try never to shoot mid day, just cause the lighting sucks, and I have a difficult time getting the shots I want... evening time only for me.
I'd also be interested in the settings on this one. Also, what did you do for CC?? what program?

hey,
i work with Premiere 2.0. Every scene has its individual CC. I use Colurbalance and Brightness & Contrast mainly! The Colurbalance Tool I mean is a PlugIn From After Effects (The one where you can change every single parameter of RGB). The very first scene has also an orange gradient from top to bottom. Some shots have vignette effect, to make the viewer concentrate to the middle of the picture. You can see this in the scene, with the two "No entry" signs....
I invest always a lot of time in colur CC. I love warm, RED/ORANGE Colours.
I recommend skylight filters with a light rosé tone to everyone, who trys to match 16 mm on sunny days. Especially forest, look very impressive without any cc. ^^

The begginning is too long. If I hadn't read ahead in the posts and didn't know there were big machines involved, I wouldn't have gotten past it. Alot of the shots would be way less distracting if they were locked down. Overall it's a pretty good first effort, the subject matter was pretty cool.

I'm trying to figure out the song in the background... Sounds like something by Explosions In The Sky, Mono, Mogwai or the like... Any ideas? It's a kickass song.
Excellent shots, by the way. It kept me riveted and wanting to see more. The warm tones and nice contrast really looked good.
Another question - In the DVX user manual, it's not recommended to point the lens at the sun. I'm sure the highest onboard ND filter was used, but were any outboard filters also used? I'd like to get some similar shots as the ones looking through the trees at the sunrise in the intro. Right now I am shooting my DVX without filters. Would anyone recommend a Polarizer & UV filter as standard for most situations? What might I need to get direct into-the-sun shots like these?
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
