Hey, just wanted to see if anyone wanted to comment on this.
We shot this in and around Salt Lake City with the band "Holloh", singing their local hit "Drifting in the Night". This MV won at the Utah Media Arts Fest in 2005 as well as at the UVSC Film Fest last year.
Please comment, this video is hooooooot!!!!:Drogar-Evil(DBG):

Whose sister?
I like the video and the song but I can't get past the sound being EXACTLY the same as Incubus. Good musicianship but not original.
Something about musicians in videos posed without their instruments, they just don't look right. I'm a musician too so I speak this crap about meself!
What settings, camera and all that did you use/do?

An instrumental opening of 1:45 seems a little long to me, almost lost my attention. Some good shots in there, it just seemed a little slow and not a lot to hold my attention. Pretty good song. My main complaint is nothing you can control I hate watching anything on youtube because they compress everything to crap.

I thought 6:00 for a music video was going to be an eternity, but once the long intro was finished warming up, I was captivated through the end. Nice song and great video!

Hmm.... way too long, I had to bail on it. Sorry, the song wasn't good enough for the epic length.

Just factory settings, with some Magic bullet and we also had the bad play triple time in a faster speed, then slowed the footage down in the edit and then matched it to the song's normal speed. This made their hair wave slower and their music playing more visual, but it still was at the normal speed. I think they do this a lot with music videos.

I've never heard any of Incubus' songs, but I do know that this band was signing on a record deal and are supposed to be touring with Incubis next year. I've not heard from the band in a few months. Sorry.

Thanks for the comments and critiques. It was a very long long long intro, and I was gonna cut it, but the band protested and well, whatever. Shockingly, yes, this video did win 2nd Place in the Utah Media Arts Fest, a state-wide competition where all the Utah colleges and high-schools compete against each other with their projects for the year. It also won the UVSC Film Fest, in the Music Video category. This was my 4th music video to shoot and I think it sucked in some parts, but for the most part, it was ok, for a "no-budget" 3 day project, with Utah's 2005 # 1. Alternative Local Rock band.
Thanks everyone for commenting.

NIce video tom. I've heard of the band, they are really good. Nice camera work and locations, I like the underground look to it. Very professional.

I have many friends in the music industry, it pays some of my bills, so I know about the ways of signing. I did hit the nail on the head with naming Incubus as their sound!
Just the way it works with marketing to the masses.
