I just got my Dvx100a today and I'm planning on starting my film next week. I was wondering what you guys think is the best settings to put the camcorder on to get the best cine look? Is 24p Advance better than regular 24p? What shutter speed should I put the camera at? What do you guys think the best setting are?
Dude, just play with the buttons. Every setting will create a different look. Decide what you want the image to look like and then press away.

if you're not 100% sure about what you're doing, and your project is important, go with factory settings. the dvx produces beautiful images right out of the box. you can't go wrong there. pretty much any of the in camera settings can be duplicated in post with cc. however, some camera settings could produce an undesirable effect that you may not be able to fix up later...
some things to definitely stay away from are high detail settings, super low master ped. settings, and never, ever use the gain switch. keep in on low unless you like noisy images.
as far as which scene file setting, if you want the film look and plan to edit at 24fps use scene file 6 (24P Advanced). if you plan to edit at 30fps go with the standard 24P setting (i forget which scene file that is). if you want it to look like video, go with the 60i setting.
if you don't have a copy of the DVX book, get it. it explains all of the in cam settings much better than the owner's manual.
good luck!!!

You need to film many tests. The thing is, everyone can say what settings are the best here and there, but until you get the camera broken in and film in as many different settings as possible, then capture them, or view them on an SD TV or an HD TV. Experiment like crazy and let me know what you find!
