I keep seeing all these films with "official selection" and "runner up" at these well-known film festivals like Sundance, etc...and they always look like high school productions, I just wonder how hard it is to get an award at these festivals...I mean look at Napoleon Dynamite...cult classics usually never have film making value, just a teenage following at the time they are released, and it got lots of awards, so I guess filmmaking is the way to go to work less and make more money.

Its mostly about paying the entry fee and coming up with the required documentation/materials.

My point was Napoleon Dynamite got awards...films like that are getting "nominated" all the time and they only appeal to an immature teenage crowd, so it makes me wonder about the people in charge of these festivals, if it is just raining awards for everyone when you go there...but hey, I understand why people would do it, it's easy money/recognition I guess.

Nice cinematography and production value. But the acting and script seem vey weak.

yes the look was very good but as action junkie said the acting may need some work and the dialogue wasn't very exciting.
And conner why you gotta bring the man down? You just insulted him without any type of feedback. All I see is negativity from all the posts I have seen you post. I'm really starting to get annoyed with your attitude. If you are going to complain about festivals go complain in the Cafe ala DVX and not here bashing on other people's work without trying to help in any way. Remember critcism here should be constructive not trying to put someone down.
