Should be the same as 1.5. Double click your clip to bring up in monitor window. Shuttle/scroll to the frame you want to export. Goto Files-->Export-->Frame. Change the filename and location to what you want. Click on settings to choose the file format (jpeg, targa, tiff etc) then click save. Should be the same or very close in 2.0.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but, Cryogenic Filmworks, I like your avatar. I have had several pairs of those shoes and loved them.

I'm obviously no fashion master but I liked e'm...

I have a question related to this topic. Since my video is shot in interlaced mode, I understand that each frame consists of the upper & lower fields. When capturing a still from my video, how do I combine both the upper & lower fields before saving as a still image? I read somewhere that combining the 2 interlaced fields will give the still image more resolution & make it crisper. How do I do this in Premiere Pro? Thanks.

And on a related note, PP2.0 does this weird thing where if I try to export a still on a 16:9 ratio it will compress it down to 4:3 even though the export setting clearly says to export to 16:9. Every still that I exported I had to tell premiere to manually interpret the footage back to 16:9. Is this a bug or is there a setting somewhere that'll take care of this?

Thanks. It is actually from the soundtrack album cover (and touched up in photoshop) from Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Not an award winner but one of my favorite movies.

It kinda depends on what you want to do with the still. If you are creating a still to freeze the action in Premiere then as ussual there's another way.

Move your CTI to the point you want the action to freeze, with the razor tool make a cut, go back one frame and make another cut. Then right click on the one frame and you'll see an option for holding on a frame, inside that menu chose the hold on in point, now you can stretch that one frame and make it as long as you like.

Afterwards you simply join the remainder of the clip and it picks up where you left off.

If its for something else - nevermind :)

Thanks a lot! I was exporting for freezing the action and this tip saves me a lot of time!
