When I try to capture analog through my Pinnacle Moviebox (firewire), it shows on the capture screen in premiere.. and records for about five seconds.. then stops recording,.. popping up a prompt to save the file. Then, below that window, is a popup saying that recording ceased due to "no timecode detected."
There has to be a way to capture non-timecoded material through premiere.
Sound familiar to anyone?

I am assuming youa re using premiere 6.5 or below because pinnacle stopped supporting premiere once pro came in (or actually vice versa) I have a pinnacle pro-one myslef that is compatible with premier 6.5. its really a buggy hardware accelerator if every setting isnt properly configured. make sure it isnt trying to record from any dv source and is set for composite and make sure ther is no scene detect option on. worse comes to worse the pinnacle card and breakout box is supported in scenelyzer live 4.0 and you can use that to capture from analog.

No.. im using Pro.. maybe that is entirely my problem. Will pro NOT capture from Moviebox, or is it just a matter of settings?

Another one I found looking around is PlayDV... simple and straight to the point.. (and cheap!)
