the Low res titles bug in PP1.5

PP1.5 always had this bug since the first time i used it:

when adding a title (even above a black video or a non existent video track), an exporting the movie (or part of movie), the title is exported at low res.

this happens at least in PAL.

the only turnaround for this bug that i found is to add an extra video track on top of everything with a dummy title (i use a small apostrophe out of the viewed area) and also apply an effect to it (eg brightness +1). in this case the movie is rendered ok.

is there a better solution of a definitive fix to this problem??

I guy I know talked about a similar problem recently. His solution was to apply a filter, any filter to the problem title or clip. No value change needed on the filter. Haven't experienced the problem myself.

the guy you spoke to was right. if any filter is applied to the title, the problem goes away. but in my experience it can't be a 'dummy' filter, it has to affect the title in some way, otherwise it doesnt work.

i usually apply an extra title over the whole thing (with a filter) so i dont risk forgetting pieces here and there.

Strange, i edit PAL material and have never had any problems with titles created with Adobe Title Designer.

Did you create your titles in Adobe Title Designer?

yah p1.5 has that isue, ghey. I usualy just make a black .bmp as a frame and put the title over it, its fine after that.

i wonder whether it's possible to 'isolate' the problem.. to understand exactly when it happens, i mean. i've noticed that sometimes it doesnt happen, but i never managed to understand the difference between the bug/non bug circumstancees..

Averdahl: i created the titles with the adobe title designer.

saturnin: but your technique is for titles on black background only? how do u overimpose titles on a clip then?
