why do you have vingentting in some of them? is that part of the ccing or an optical problem? nice ccing looks good

The vignetting was done in post, not from the camera. But I have found it doesn't take much to get vignetting on the camera, I regularly leave my uv filter on and then add my polarizer on top and the vignetting is quite evident on the computer, on tv it's usually cut out.

And I was about to sell my GL-2. Were you using a 35mm adapter to get the shallow DOF in some of those? They look great.

Nope! No 35mm adapter. I was zoomed in almost all the way, I had a good 20 feet between me and my subjects (The two girls) and the background behind them is a good 150 feet behind them (Golf course). Now that I look at them, I think they're probably a tad too dark...oh well. And a word from the wise... ALWAYS use the zebra pattern to get proper exposure!

those are amazing...i didn't think you could get quality like that from the GL2, i was about to buy an XL2, are the XL2 and GL2 matched in picture quality, just the GL2 lacks the customizablity?

Hey whats up? I found this site from a google search. I just bought a new Canon GL2, I saw some of these pictures and thought they were great, I just had to leave a comment on them. Oh! I'm also making a short Horror film. I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to make the picture movie quality. I noticed on the RING, they use a lens that is slightly tinted blue for a gloomy look, I love that so much!

Also, what is this Zebra pattern you mentioned?

Zebra is a function that tells you when certain parts of the frame are overexposed.
About your horror film, shoot 30p on the GL2, and one of the white balance preset on that camera should give you a blue tint look, or you can add it in post. Everything else for that "movie look" is lighting and composition.

I own a GL2 Or an XM2 as it is called in England. I iam realy gobsmacked abiut this baby canon, I make training dvd`s for a living, and let me tell you it rocks, in the hands of some one who knows how to make it work it will rock even more, Quick word of advice is the the canon has a built in ND filter which can also aid you getting a shallow depth of feild along with the zoom. Again use your zebra indicator.

It's kind of like a mix between Friday The Thirteenth and Hostel.

Looking foward to it player, you know horror movies seldom lose money if they are done right, especially if there are alot of screaming naked women (this helps in foreign terrortories) just look at Hostel.
