So being from television, we don't know much here about internet compression and up- / downloading video files but I'm about to start getting an education. When exporting out of Premiere, I'd like to prepare video files for on-demand streaming. We have yet to select a server for this but the studio, as others do, uses Easystream.com. The problem there is that they prefer .wmv files and we don't yet know if that's the best quality/file size there is. What do the experienced minds here at my favorite board recommend?

WMV is my favourite, I've found it to be better than QuickTime. I usually do a couple of different bitrates for different connection speeds (dunno if easystream allows this), maybe a 256k, a 512k, and a 1024k (for SD I'm talking). You should be pretty good just working from the presets in Adobe Media Encoder; there are some settings you can finesse depending on your footage and needs but the presets are a good starting place.

Thanks ON, that's exactly what we've found!
