i finally set-up my camera at 2fps /350d shutter and just shot some test footage. isn't setting the syncro scan at 350d supposed to be brighter than setting the shutter at 1/24? i shot both and the 1/24 footage came out brighter. i even set the syncro to 10d and there was no difference with 350d. all the killer time-lapse stuff i've been seeing is 2-3fps with 350d. am i doing something wrong?

also, none of the gains work when it's at 2fps and the iris response is super-slow... is this normal?

thanks

You need to use the shutter and speed sel +/- buttons to select 350 degrees. Trust me, when you get it right, you'll know it -- it'll be about three stops brighter than 1/24th.

Yes, your other observations are normal -- gain doesn't work at less than 22fps, and the slower your fps, the slower everything is -- autoiris, autofocus, everything.

Am I mising something here?? how does one get to 350 degree shutter with 2 fps? seems like interval rec is only enabled with video cam mode which does not allow 350 deg shutter settings.

You are missing something, yes -- there's a secret way to enable a whole lot more frame rates in the HVX, and 2fps is one of them. Look for a thread called "want some more frame rates?"
