I was browsing the samples section on the Redrock website (http://www.redrockmicro.com/samples.html) and, besides from the stunning footage, I noticed many of the (DVX) samples are in widescreen - were these shot with letterbox in camera or is there some sort of way to shoot anamorphic in unison with a 35 adapter?

Thanks!

im sure they're cropped in post. You can't use the anamorphic adapter with a 35mm coverter

unless there are anamorphic 35mm lenses. I don't really no anything about 35mm

Why?

You can get 35mm anamorphic primes, they aren't cheap, but you can them, you can also use 16mm anamorphic projection lenses with a little inginuity. What's so bad with cropping in post? Planning any big movies? After projecting cropped DVX footage with 35mm adapter on my HD 110" screen I can honestly say that it looks better than most other DVX footage that I have shot blown up to that size. May be a little softer, but oh so much easier on the eyes.
