We all like the HVX200 for it's "variable frame rate", DVCproHD format in both 720 and 1080 mode with no artifacts in fast movements, 4:2:2 colour space, P2 technology etc. etc. However there are also some downsites which have to be solved in the next version which would really make it the best of the best. Improved low light capability (1/2" CCDs ?), improved LCD display and viewfinder, to be able to record audio on the XLR without recording on the internal mic, removal of the tape deck, shoulder mount etc.

When will this cam be available, soon ????????

No indication was given at NAB, so obviously any such "replacement" isn't going to arrive soon.

Seriously, the product's been on the market less than four months and you're looking for a "replacement"? Ain't gonna happen.

Yeah, I've had my cameras for four months and haven't even begun to explore the depths of their capabilities. How could you possibly be nagging for a new version already? The camera you have is one fine piece of equipment, perhaps you should spend more time with it, instead of hoping for something better.

you can explore as much as you want but you will not be able to get a better low light picture out of the HVX than for instance Barry can !!!! Furthermore it has nothing to do with nagging. The lifecycle of a cam becomes lesser and lesser so we can expect at the end of 2007 something new.

Btw look at the thread below this one and you will see that I am not the only one who wants more low light capability !!!!!

Do these statements really require four or five exclamation points?

Do these statements really require four or five exclamation points?????????

I fixed your quote for you Barry. I'd hate to see such a humorous punctuation opportunity go to waste. No need to thank me. The dedication at the beginning of the HVX200 book will be thanks enough. :love4:
