When i want to export to DVD, it goes through about half of the process then an error window comes up and spits out my DVD. The window says "PluginCoder error: no plugin DLLs".
I could uninstall and install the program, but as you can see, im mid project (The Lemonade Stand) and would rather not do this. Anyone know whats going on?

I had the same problem recently...so your not alone. I wanted to burn something quick without going into Encore. I'd be interested if anyone has an answer to this. I'm going to check the Adobe forums.

Word on the street is that there is a bug with the Mainconcept encoder and they're working on a fix. I think 29.97 might work. The problem might be with making 23.976 discs.

Im burning one right now and so far there isnt any problem. What will the fix come in the form of? Just like a patch we just Download?

Most likely a download from Adobe.com. But Adobe has never been quick to fix anything so we shall see.

Yup, I'm experiencing the same issue in Adobe 2.0, but when I export to DVD using Adobe 1.5 it works as it should. I almost bought Vegas, but decided to stay with Adobe's new and improved version. This is frustrating to say the least!

Been a problem for everyone trying to export a 23.976,as an MPEG2. Here is a thread which deals with it, and a possible work around.
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=64553
My work around was to export as 24P .avi, then open in 1.5 or Sorenson and encode to MPEG2 from there.
All the best,
Michael
Has this issue ever been resolved? Or is the workaround the only option still?

the easiest solution for this is to just export a 24p mpg2 file and then burn the DVD with a different authoring program such as encore. this way works easily and to date for me it has been flawless.

It's been resolved in Encore DVD. You can burn 24p movies in it now.

Using what settings? I don't get any good results. The image has ghosting, in particular. I've got Encore 2.0, and after considerable searching for an answer on the web and on these forums, and trying every possible combination of settings, I've read that there is a bug in Encore 2.0 and to use another program like Sorenson Squeeze. I have the complete Adobe $1700.00 suite, and 24P only works properly for me in Quicktime and Flash, and possibly sometimes properly in Windows Media. It looks great in the program window, by the way, but that's not a DVD!
It's galling to me that I would have to pay $40.00 (to tech support) for an answer to one question about a feature that is claimed to work in the software!

What exactly is the workflow you are utilizing? For my 24p projects (which is 99% of all my projects), I export from Premiere Pro 2 using the Media Encoder set for MPEG2-DVD with frame rate set at 23.976, Field Order None (Progressive), GOP M=2, N=12. I then import the MPEG files into Encore 2, and it burns to DVD with no problems.
One thing to make sure is that the clips in the sequence you are exporting are in fact being recognized as 23.976 fps in the project window. Occasionally, it will happen that a clip is imported at 30 fps even though it was shot at 24p. This is easy to fix by simply right-clicking in the project window and using the "Interpret Footage" function. Also, make sure that the sequence your are exporting is in fact on a 24p timeline (easy enough to check by just seeing at what frame # it rolls to the next second, i.e. 23 or 29).
I hope this helps,
Michael

Thanks.
Will try those settings and get back to you. The only thing I'm not sure I did as you describe was the GOP settings. I believe I just used the defaults.

Well, that worked! Thank you!
I was not setting the encoding to 23.976.
It only took me several months to get an answer, but finally I can get a 24P DVD!
Thank you for noticing my post, and responding.
One other question, my DVD video looks a little brighter than the original program image. Any idea why this is? Is this an artifact of compression to MPEG-2?

NTSC DVD players add set-up - 0 IRE displays at 7.5 IRE.

Thanks for the tips!
I checked it on my funky old TV here, and I guess it looks fine, a little loss of detail, particularly colors, but I guess that's the compression showing. Also, I've got a digital 23" monitor on the computer. Setup is OK on the TV but playing the DVD on the computer, looks a little brighter in the exact same scenes. Is that because of the computer not needing setup?
I've successfully burned several 24P DVDs now and am finally happy it's working as claimed.
Another interesting problem is when I go to burn the DVD, it says I need AC3 or PCM audio, yet I set it to PCM in Adobe Premiere, so that's what it's working with.
Sound does play on my old set-top DVD player, but is a little distorted on some peaks, and other areas are much lower level than in the editing system. Also the TV is mono.
Any comments on this?
