Does anyone know of a clinic or school that teaches you how to be an assistant camera operator? I've contacted Arri in Burbank because I was told they did it but apparently it is through UCLA. I called them and didn't have any luck.
Does anyone know of this school? or any others?
Thanks,
Tony

books, message boards, practice, networking,...
its not something you have to go to school for.

Apply to work in some rental company. I know Panavision offers internships. That's cheap (you can actually make a little money) and effective.

the panavision idea sounds really damn cool. but someone wants to send to a school to learn how so i can assist them on a project. they told about something they knew of with Arri of Burbank but i called them and they told me it was through UCLA. so i called UCLA and didnt get very far (lunch time on a Friday though).
does anyone know anything about UCLA's "Extension Programs"?

It's called I.A.T.S.E.
Call up your local and prepare for a beating. Good luck.
