https://server.iad.liveperson.net/hcp/chatinfo/chatinfo.gifPlease wait while we connect you to a Newegg representative. You are number 1 in the queue.
https://server.iad.liveperson.net/hcp/chatinfo/chatinfo.gifThank you for contacting Newegg. My name is Scott. How may I assist you today?
john: i have a specific question about a camcorder
john: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16830180049
john: are you guys an authorized panasonic dealer ?
Scott: Non tech I'll be able to help with, if it's tech the I recommend you contact Pansonic at 800-211-7262
Scott: Yes
john: is there a way to check if that camera comes with the free dvd and a book ?
Scott: The instruction manual and cd?
john: no, its a special cd and a special book. it should say so on the box
Scott: Unfortunately, I don't have that information available and there is no way to physically check our inventory.
john: may i have yr companys zipcode so i can check on www.panasonic.com (http://www.panasonic.com) to see if u guys are a official dealer ?
Scott: I'm not sure which one, we have several
Scott: 90601
john: http://b2b.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/Locator/Search.jsp?cmpycd=3
john: you guys are not listed as dealer at all ?
Scott: They may have a different zip code, unfortunately, that zip is our public one and it may be the zip for our purchasing department
john: its confirmed that you guys are official panasonic dealer ?
Scott: Yes, but we do not participate in all the specials that they may be offering.
Scott: If we participate in a rebate or special, we post the information in green on the description page.
john: so, you confirming that i cant get the promo from panasonic for this camera ?
john: sorry to be a pain, but its a $400 rebate from panasonic and thats a lot of money
Scott: We are not a participant in that rebate, if we were, we would show in in green right under the item price.
john: ok thanks

Also, I called them up and another sales rep DID confirmed that the camera they are selling DO COME with the Magic Bullet Software and the Special DVD. This is really confusing. The kicker is once you buy from New Egg, you cannot return it to get your money back !! Even if the box is unopened !

I wish someone in Panasonic can clear this up. If they are not an official dealer then I have to come up with more money in order to beat the Rebate Deadline and money is real tight right now :(

More than likely that person didn't know. They are probably in a call center some where and they are checking the website just like you are.

Buy from EVS, you'll save yourself a world of headache just in case something does wrong.

I have a friend who bought a digital camera from NewEgg and returned it. However, there was some sort of 'restocking fee."

I highly recommend NewEgg for most purchases, but am unsure about buying a DVX from them. I'd probably look to EVS or B&H.

Completly agree. Will get in touch with EVS soon ! SOmething is not right if they are not willing to take back unopened product !

Newegg is okay, but I try to buy elsewhere due to the return policy -- or lack thereof. Restocking fees equal to their profit margins don't really do it for me. Same goes for Safe Harbor.
