Why Native Mode

When shooting DVCPRO HD @ 720 is there any sort of quality loss in shooting the "Native" mode of 720/ 24p? I was just wondering when shooting @ 720, what are advantages of shooting the non-Native 24p? Why doesn't everyone just shoot Native to save memory if it's the same resolution?

There is no loss of quality if you are using the native mode. You would use the non-native mode if you are capturing to the Firestore, or direct to a PC via firewire (as the HVX will not stream in native mode via firewire).
