Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything because 25p is too short for the search.
I have premiere pro 2 and just started shooting with my DVX. I recorded some 25p material, and now want to import it into Premiere.
But when I open a new project in Premiere I can either choose 24p or just dv pal. Which one should I use? I went through all the custom settings, but it seems there isn't a 25p mode...

Thanks,

Fredric

P.S. If there is another editting program that does have 25p mode, please tell me which...

Use DV PAL...24p is only for NTSC footage. Things are much simpler with PAL footage. No need for pulldown since PAL standard is 50i.

Thanks!
Does this also mean I can combine 25p and 50i footage in the same project, or is this still a problem?

I wouldn't think it would be a problem...I can combine 30p and 60i in the same timeline. But then again I've never edited PAL footage. Maybe someone else will chime in.

There's one way to know for sure...shoot a quick test.

There shouldn't be any problem combining 25p and 50i footage on the same timeline. The only problem I can imagine is if you wanted to force the export to a 25p file (say a wmv or something), your interlace lines from the 50i footage would show up when viewing on a computer screen.

But in general no issue.
