Have they announced anything about a service pack to support the HVX? It's a baaaad business move on their part to let Apple take the lead on this one...

So nothing new on this??? I havent heard anything yet from NAB. I wish something besides the Raylight product was able to fix this issue.

Raylight looks cool, anyone tried it?

I'm a registered raylight user, and yes it works very well. It's absolutely amazing that one guy working by himself with no support or tech documents, was able to do what Adobe and Sony Vegas haven't!

I use it also in both Vegas and Premiere, works great with MXF files in both. . Nice to have a fix in place now, and not wait for continual version upgrades. .

..I also have a registered copy of raylight. I like it. it works well. it does have a few hitches now and then in PPRO 2.0 or AE 7 pro with retreiving data from the video stream, but a quick reload fixes it. IT does pretty quick conversion on my machine. It allows me to work with the HVX here and now in my choice of software, so it was well worth the purchase. the quality is pixel for pixel accurate with the naitive MXF cause from the way i understand it to work, it actually uses the MXF info through a sort of "external avi wrapper".

Dear Adobe,

I really hope that someone from there is paying attention to these boards. B/c I was SERIOUSLY hoping that you would get your act together on this one and at least announce your plans to remedy the situation at NAB. No offense to the motivated guy that developed Raylight, but it really really sucks to have an added expense on top of an editing app just to be able to use a wide-spread pro format!

It is supposed to be Adobe Premiere "Pro". Get with the program Adobe.

Love,
The hundreds of people running to purchase your competitors products.

Would Cineform Prospect with an AJA video card do the trick? (allow Premiere to support DVCPRO HD MFX files) ...

Prospect is $499, Raylight works right now with it, its $200.

Well looks like there is some promising news on the Cineform AspectHD front. In the Adobe forums David Newman CTO, CineForm, has said that Aspect 4.1 will be out in "weeks" and will support the HVX. I dunno how in depth and how it will support it but it will! Thats Pretty good news I think.

Thanks,
John G.

I talked to the Adobe guys at NAB about native/plug-in support for the HVX.

They referred me to a specific gentleman to answer my question and when I went up to ask him there were already two other guys there asking the exact same question.

The response of the Adobe rep was..."There are no plans to announce support for it in the near future." His solution was to buy the Matrox card/breakout box which I believe he said is another $5,000. :furious3:

He then had the nerve to suggest, "Well, what would you be willing to pay Adobe for a plug-in that would provide HVX support?" (What the ?!?#?#!% !!!!!!)

"Uhm, how about you just make it a part of the program like all the other professional apps are doing?"

So, although I have used Premiere on my personal workstation for years now I am seriously considering other options.

Too bad.

Raylight http://dvfilm.com/raylight is $195, and it's doubtful that Adobe will offer a similar plugin or builtin support within the next two years.

Looking forward to it!

"Well, what would you be willing to pay Adobe for a plug-in that would provide HVX support?"

What an asshole. Did you really give him that reply? Kudos if you did.

David,

I was hoping to hear from your camp on the issue sometime soon. Im sending you the PM now. I currently have raylight, but would like something with a little better realtime performance...especially running the machine that i am. So i am pretty eager to try out the cineform solution.
