When I attempted to load my P2 software, I couldn't get past the dialog where one is asked to connect the HVX. I connected, placed the HVX in PC mode for USB, and hit "enter". The only way out was to "cancel", but the software apparently did load anyway. I uninstalled and tried again, but left the HVX in its default power- up condition. Still the same result. Again, the software appears to be loaded now.
I can read my P2 contents as the HVX is recognized as a drive.
So, what exactly will this software do for me?
Thanks.

Thats it ;-) It's basically like loading a Printer Driver.. you need a program to print on it.. Now you need an editing program that is P2 compatiable.. AVID, and some others for PC..
If you we're expecting to see what you shot, SO WAS I! But nope.. It's just a driver..

I don't recall if I had that problem with the driver software, but I did have it with the viewer software, (which has to be downloaded) it gave an error sound in both Win2K and WinXP (home) but I could view the footage on the computer, and it looks nice! (23" monitor) But then after a few uses, it refuses to work!
I cannot see the camera's P2 drive as a hard drive from the computer as I originally could, it just won't recognize that it's hooked up.
I'm not sure why, and I've been reading the manual, uninstalling/reinstalling, etc. for the last several hours, trying to figure this out.
The only thing I can think is that there's a bug in the install program, and so I went looking for support, and can't find any working links on thier recommended website. All their other links on the site work fine, where they are SELLING us something but the support site links aren't working. Very discouraging!
