I have some DVX footage I took in 24p.

It was done on a monopod.

I threw the footage together in VEGAS over an evening for fun.

Hope you like it.

great footage! I've always had a big interest in tornadoes. Definately one of the craziest forces of nature.

No sir that was March 12th. I chased that day too.. Not alot happened on the Kansas side as the storms moved through to the NE/E rly direction.

Lawrence got a microburst. Not a tornado. Desoto got some sizeable hail.

Problem with early spring storms is they move real fast.. like 50 - 60 miles an hour. They are very hard to chase and keep up with..

The above video is of APril 15th outside of Beatrice Ne. We left KC around 10 am, drove down I 70 and then headed N. to the Nebraska border through Manhattan, Ks. and then basically setup in that farmers field awaiting initiation..

I use XM satellite radar to pinpoint the storms and set up in their path.

Where's the actual tornado? Did you cut it short for a reason?

Coffe, If you watch the video in its entirety you will see the fully formed tornado .. I didnt get an extreme amount of useable footage of the actual tornado due to the precipitation that the storm was putting out.. The tornado became rain wrapped to the point that visibility was hindered.. Also I was contending with editable footage as well.. As being on a monopod (mistake) I have lots of noticeable movement.

Oh and also.. you ask wheres the tornado.. RoflMao.. That was it that went right over head as it formed.. WOW! My mind is still blown.. Its incredible the range of emotions you feel when you see something like this. Shock and Awe..

That was my favorite part! Where it swirled above you as it passed by. Incredible shot there! I can only imagine how it felt.

Ah ok, I was looking for the obvious funnel from sky to earth type of thing but the rain and such pretty much hid it.... either way, very cool man. I would be stoaked and scared all at once in that situation.

That's awsome .
The closet I've been was back in 85 . My wife and I were coming back from Sturgis , S.D and heading to Washington D.C .We stopped at a camp ground for the night . During the night the High winds and the rain came .
I remember we were scared S***less .The tent was lifting up . My motorcycle was blown over and then it was over . When we went for breakfast it was then we were told Tornado had been thru and damaged many trailer homes just down the road from where we were staying .
That's about as close I want to get .
Good luck with the Documentary

Coffe.. If you watch the video again in its entirety you will see the last 30 seconds is a tornado touching the ground as the classic tornado you might expect. The debris cloud is aproximately 1/2 mile wide at that point. WOW! how can it get better than that...lol
