What happened to my audio

If you open files in edius, and then lated deceide you don't need them, If you delete these files, will it remove them from your source or just your project?

That's what I did, and now my audio files are gone...no where to be found.
What happened?

If you are deleting from the bins it only deletes it from the projects and not the source drive.

Not quite. I believe "delete file" will kill the original material.
