Capture Issues

Hey Everyone...

I got FCP 5.1
I set capture device to: Non-controllable device
I can open FCP but when I open the capture window, it says "Preview Disabled" even though the VTR is okay.
I hit record on my HVX anyways, then hit "Capture Now" and I get this message:
"Attempt to capture video without a video device selected. Please select a video device in your capture presets and try again."

HAS ANYONE EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM?

IS IT OKAY FOR ME TO BE RECORDING LIVE IN 480i?

HELP???

Is there a guide or resource I haven't found that clearly outlines the proper way to record live into FCP via Laptop?

Am I only allowed to caputre using P2?

And final dumb question... Do I HAVE to have a P2 card in the slot to capture directly into my powerbook?

You should be able to capture a Live feed using the settings youve listed. Ive not tried it on SD but captured 1080 25p straight into a Mac with FCP 5.1 no problem. Check your capture settings to ensure its set up for 480i. And NO you dont need a P2 card in the slot.
